Interesting things happen in the chemistry classroom so let’s have some pictures to prove it. Did you make a ChemisTree, grow crystals, dress as a mole…? Rise to the challenge and be on the cover of Chem 13 News with your chemistry photos. Show what fun and fascinating things are going on in introductory chemistry. Feel free to pull out nifty photos from past years and send them in.
The deadline for this contest is the end of May to encourage our international readers to participate and show what is going on in chemistry around the world.
Three categories are as follows:
1) Why study chemistry? — Photos in this category should emphasize classroom chemistry. Take a picture of your students doing a lab, you performing a demonstration, or a Mole Day celebration. Let’s see education at work.
2) Everything is chemistry — Take a picture of the neat chemistry in your classroom or beyond. Do you have photos of snow crystals, soap bubbles, a neat demonstration…?
3) A student’s eye view — Encourage your students to take pictures and be prepared to be impressed with their insight.
Please include a description with the entry pictures along with your name and school. Book prizes will be awarded for each category and the winners’ photos will appear on the Chem 13 News front cover.
